About this artwork
Lua is very sensual with her delicate curves which bring her a certain voluptuousness. The fragmentation of this body creates subtle effects of shadow and light, conveying a certain fragility. One can imagine a movement like a flight... Its golden color reveals all the work and the finesse of the cardboard lace.

Angelina Maia is an award-winning sculptor based in Portugal who has exhibited nationally, as well as in France, Switzerland, Denmark, the United States, and Canada. Drawn to the female form, its delicacy, its fragility, and its movements, she is also inspired by the Greek statues of antiquity. Maia's unique and fragmented sculptures are an ode to the fragile female body, as several women in her life have been affected by cancer.
