About this artwork
I based this painting on a friends photo of an outdoor sea pool thinking it would be fun to do...it certainly was. Several layers of paint later, I began to think I had taken on more than I could chew! Persevering and finally getting the feeling that I wanted to show of the sea washing up on the steps I began to think of how I could portray the railing as 3D. This would enable the viewer to feel as well as see the image!
Trying a few different things… I used a thin electrical spare cable that I found and it worked brilliantly. I am so pleased with the final image.
