About this artwork
As Time Goes By reflects my ongoing fascination with memory, presence, and the quiet emotional connections that shape our lives. Through layered acrylic, pencil marks, and wax pastel on textured canvas, I wanted the painting to feel both dreamlike and deeply personal — like fragments of moments remembered over time.
The symbolic figures move through a soft atmospheric space where emotion and imagination become intertwined. For me, this piece speaks… to reflection, transition, and the way certain memories continue to echo quietly within us.
Anita Wood, a painter with a lifelong creative background, is celebrated for her mastery of transparent watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media. She uses expressive mark-making, layered color, texture, and intuitive processes to weave between abstraction and representation, often featuring luminous florals and atmospheric landscapes. Her work is deeply evocative, aiming to stir emotions and invite moments of presence, reflection, and quiet transformation in each viewer.
