“Composition Brown-Silver” is a reduced, material-focused work in which textile structures, industrial sensibilities and painterly elements merge into a dense, calm pictorial space.
Various fabrics, hand-embroidered details, and custom-developed materials are combined to create a multi-layered surface. Earthy browns and blacks meet shimmering silver areas that shift between subtlety and prominence depending on the light.
The work exists at the… boundary between textile art, painting, and object. Lines and structures evoke urban fragments or architectural elements without becoming concrete. Instead, an open space emerges in which materiality, rhythm, and surface take center stage.
The reduced color palette and differentiated structure give the work a calm, concentrated appearance with a high contemporary presence.
Anke Pradel-Schönknecht uses textile materials as well as painting, collage, and mixed media – her creative path led her from classical painting through studies in textile and surface design to experimental textile art. With sophisticated techniques such as dyeing, printing, sewing, and layering diverse materials, she creates three-dimensional relief images and art quilts that combine tactile and visual stimuli. Her artworks convey curiosity, sensuality, and a captivating depth; they invite viewers to understand structures not only visually but also emotionally.
