“Red Passion” is an intense, physical textile work in which material, color and gesture combine to create a powerful visual presence.
At its center unfolds a dense, relief-like structure of layered and sewn textiles. The luminous red form acts like a pulsating core, rising from finely tuned, transparent, and flowing layers. Delicate embroidery, fragile fabrics, and custom-developed materials combine to create a multi-layered surface that oscillates… between control and organic growth.
The work moves between painting, object art, and textile art, addressing inner processes, energy, and transformation. Depending on the angle of the light, the perception of the surface changes – from soft and flowing to an almost sculptural presence.
“Red Passion” is a unique piece and an expression of an artistic exploration of materiality, physicality, and emotional intensity. A one-of-a-kind work.
Anke Pradel-Schönknecht uses textile materials as well as painting, collage, and mixed media – her creative path led her from classical painting through studies in textile and surface design to experimental textile art. With sophisticated techniques such as dyeing, printing, sewing, and layering diverse materials, she creates three-dimensional relief images and art quilts that combine tactile and visual stimuli. Her artworks convey curiosity, sensuality, and a captivating depth; they invite viewers to understand structures not only visually but also emotionally.
