About this artwork
This photograph, titled "Flesh of Neurons," was created from images captured under a microscope in a biology laboratory. The neurons present in the sample were then superimposed onto a body's skin and reworked by me, creating a dialogue between microscopic structure and human materiality. The image explores corporeality and the porous boundaries between the invisible realm of the mind and human corporeality, juxtaposing microscopic life with bodily…
texture. Through this hybridization, I seek to reveal forms and volumes that evoke both the body and the nervous system, questioning our perception of living matter and the intimate relationship between biology and bodily presence.

Anna Sieradzka, visual artist, born in 1976 in Poland, lives and works in France. Graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, doctor in Intermedia (Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow) and in philosophy (University of Warsaw – thesis on the theory of the contemporary image).
Her practice, informed by philosophical reflection, explores the relationship between matter, time, and process, questioning the boundaries between the human and the non-human. Materiality and corporeality are central to her work, conceived as essential components of existence. She combines various mediums—drawing, painting, video, photography, installation—and organic materials (hair, milk) that allow her to question definitions and reveal forms in perpetual evolution. Surfaces, cracks, spirals, folds—these are all structures that fascinate her, both in the human body and in the natural world.
