In 1 image different times can be seen: past, present and future. The actual theme is change and the time that passes. To create this image, I use several etching plates that I press on top of each other. In these etchings you can look through the cities and buildings, giving you the idea that the different times coincide. Annemarie Petri is an award-winning Dutch painter, printmaker, and sculptor whose works have been extensively exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, and China. Her sources of inspiration are diverse and include 17th century engravings in the spirit of Piranesi, the natural sciences, literature, and, predominantly, the romantic desire to create an imaginary world of her own. Petri believes that art is predominantly about life and death, rising above the individual.
