About this artwork
In this work, I tried to capture the vibrant and picturesque essence of a small village hidden in the mountains. Through the use of oil, I expressed the rich texture of the architecture and the chromatic vivacity of the flora. The color impastos and the free and impressionistic spatulas infuse energy and movement, inviting the viewer to lose their gaze among the intricate details and the play of light. This painting is not only a tribute to the architectural… beauty, but an invitation to explore and discover the poetry of forgotten places.
Antonio Di Viccaro (born in 1935), who studied in Lazio and Tuscany, prefers oil painting on canvas. The artist uses a palette knife technique to vividly spread oil, depicting the nature and beauty of Italy without the use of brushes. His works, imbued with a love for the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts, exude vitality and enthusiasm.
