About this artwork
I felt the color red intensely when I began painting. I mixed it myself, using different red pigments. I varied the vibrant red with opaque reds, pinks, and violets, and added shimmering, silvery contrasts. During the process, I felt that the painting needed a strong, central base. For this, I chose black and turquoise.
In this image, I incorporated many small impulses. This is why the result is so rich in color and emphasis. Following these individual… impulses, the eye quickly jumps from point to point. As a result, it appears lively, dynamic, and, in a positive sense, chaotic yet simultaneously ordered.
Ketotifen is a mast cell stabilizer. A rare drug used to treat a rare disease. This work is titled 'Ketotifen' because I was painting it during the adjustment period with the medication, and this time was accompanied by severe side effects and fever.
