About this artwork
In the heart of a deep blue space, a young woman rests among the scattered fragments of a piano keyboard. Freed from their usual order, the keys seem to float around her like the remnants of a suspended melody, transforming the instrument into a constellation.
Through this deconstruction of the keyboard, the work explores what remains when music leaves the realm of sound to enter that of memory and imagination. The scattered elements become silent… notes gravitating around the character, in a balance between presence, absence, and reminiscence.
The bright red dress at the center of the composition contrasts with the dark tones of the background and guides the eye through this space where the music seems to have materialized before dispersing.
Created in oil on canvas, this work belongs to the Sonora Fracta series, dedicated to the visible fragments of the musical universe.
Arthur Og, a polymorphic artist, comes from a musical background and trained in various art studios. He excels in the realism of oil painting, sometimes showing a leaning toward surrealism or abstraction, and explores organic themes in clay sculpture. Renowned for his music-related portraits, he brings scenes to life in period costume. His works, imbued with a vibrant exploration of the human body, gaze, and human expression, invite reflection on creation and the passage of time.
