About this artwork
I only painted dots, points, dots, stars and more connections. Such was the despair in which I found myself, (if you read other paintings you will already know why I was like this), I did not know how to do anything more creative than to tap the paper. Orange turns me on and I like the markers because they smell like alcohol. If I could tap the universe I would have added a bunch of stars and a few giants. I think of Riegel, Betelgeuse, Sirius, Sadalmak,… Arcturus, and I remain alienated ... Like human beings. This is what I think of the stars: They are houses where incomparable things happen, and each one has its vital code of conduct. I would love to go on vacation to one of these giants. I'll go when I have more credit in my imagination.
« I wanted to be a pilot, but I ended up painting. Now I fly higher. »
Arturo Prins is an exciting Spanish artist whose style comes from a sensibility of play, discipline, freedom and rebellion, redoubled in a constant reinvention of himself. Thematically, Prins looks to delve into metaphysics, symbolism, esoteric cosmogony, while mixing in humor to soften the transcendent themes in his work. He also describes his work as being "nostalgic for the future, sometimes with a nod to the eclectic spiritualism between East and West."
