About this artwork
Paperwork #36 is a unique wall sculpture from Astrid Stöppel's Paperwork series. Colored and black paper scraps are mounted on a black-primed canvas, forming a multi-layered, three-dimensional surface. The work measures 50 × 70 cm and was created in 2026.
The individual paper scraps represent transience and change. However, together, the many small fragments combine to form something new and unique. The overlapping layers of paper create a pronounced… 3D effect and lend the work a special tactile and spatial quality.
Paperwork #36 combines intense color with deep black to create a contemporary abstract wall sculpture with a strong visual presence. A unique work that unites color, structure, and materiality in a special way.
