About this artwork
During my artist residency in New Orleans in 2023, I lived in Marigny, neighboring the French Quater, I absolutely wanted to visit the swamps of Louisiana, better known as the Swamps or the Bayous. I was invited to a James Barbee photo exhibition opening at the Huracan gallery. This is how I first saw images of the Swamps. He invited me on a trip to the swamps by canoe, and with the playing clapper. I loved the place, so wild, dangerous, wet. In… this work I captured the vibrant essence of emotional waves, using oil and sand to enrich the textures and bring the swirling movements to life. Expressionism allows me to explore the depth of human feelings, as if each brushstroke reveals a hidden layer of the soul. This painting is not just an object, it is a vibrant companion that will bring energy and movement to your space, evoking contemplation and serenity.
« My works are philosophical and precious. You sink into them; feel the force of nature and the author’s energy. »
