“Palm in the Wind"
The compositional misdirection of all of the palm's extensions is what forced me to capture this. By the conversion to Black and White and a tinting of the final image did the contrast of all its intricate details come alive. I like its roughness and how a torrent of wind must have disturbed its otherwise uniform display. While we favor all things neat and tidy, this shot represents everything that is the opposite of that, and… it's why it's so compelling. It's borderline disturbing.
