About this artwork
The painting was done live, on the 4th date of WE ARE AT LIVE, at BeatMemo.
We are a duo that combines two disciplines: music and painting, made up of Brenda Cordi and Sergio Puccini. We believe in the transformative power of art and understand our era as constellations. A family where diverse points of view coexist.
We reinterpret the legacy of Modernity and Plato, with their binary view that things must be a certain way or they must not be at… all. Modern thought understands life as two opposing categories, without considering shades of gray or intermediate states.
Inspired by William Shakespeare's iconic line, "To be, or not to be, that is the question," we reinterpreted it from our perspective to say, "Be together, that's the question." With this as our motto, we will insist that unity is strength. The colors were chosen by the public—the first ten to arrive.
Trained in Fine Arts, Brenda Cordi employs a variety of media including oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, and clay and iron sculpture. She uses varied techniques such as woodcut, silkscreen and lithography, adding a high level of emotional charge based on her specialization in printmaking. Her expressive works seek to remind us of our gentle humanity in a world dominated by individualism, inviting us to share a sense of collective belonging.
