About this artwork
At exhibitions I always talk openly about the dark sides of life, the ups and downs we experience as a human being. The suffering and the fun.
The positive thing about me sharing my experiences is that often people open up - some for the very first time - about their own psychological scars.
When they eventually do start talking, I can feel the energy shift in the room. It feels like entering a void where there is silence, calm and pure bliss. It… feels like we have a deep connection …something that nurtures our souls.
We feel like we are not alone.
My work is about resilience after having endured difficult times and still go for that bold and daring life. Stand up straight and realize who you are.
You are a wonderful human being, never forget!

My artwork is known for its abstract qualities, incorporating emotional movement, graffiti-style marks, and words to establish a ‘social ground’ within my paintings.
Through this process, I aim to question, challenge, and provoke established narratives and cultural hierarchies, particularly those surrounding equality and abuse; while inviting new perspectives and interpretations.
I have studied for almost 20 years at both the Academy of Art in Brugge & Mechelen, Belgium. I am classically trained and I master a wide range of painting and drawing techniques, from realistic work to expressive and experimental styles.
