About this artwork
I often ride my motorcycle to Ticino. After one of these trips, I painted this picture. The strange silence of the buildings fascinated me most. Later, I created another picture with a church without doors....
I first build these pictures with my structural paste, model the details, let the resulting work dry for three days, and only then do I pick up the brush to create the painting.

Carl Röhrig, trained at the Academy of Graphic Arts in Munich, works primarily with acrylic and oil paintings on canvas. Using his special relief technique, he creates fantastical naturalism where depth of detail is paramount.
