About this artwork
This painting was created for an exhibition in Andermatt in December 2019. Initially, I planned to paint a completely normal winter landscape, without any alienation, but then my brush wanted to conjure a face into the snow. Later, it became an opening into space. Perhaps this painting is interesting because it shows two worlds: the world of space and the world of snow, and they are actually like a shell around us. When you stand in the snow under…

Carl Röhrig, trained at the Academy of Graphic Arts in Munich, works primarily with acrylic and oil paintings on canvas.
