About this artwork
This portrait delicately depicts a blend of fragility with an attitude of perseverance and courage in the face of adversity. This work was part of my exhibition, Visions of Portraiture, and is painted using a technique I love: the first layer, in acrylic, accurately portrays the model, and the subsequent layers are done in oil, very freely and intuitively.
