A word from the artist
With "Crystal Day," I wanted to invite you into the heart of a very poetic winter landscape, inspired by the clarity of a bitterly cold day. It's a work I painted in a spirit of serenity and well-being, with the desire to transform the harshness of winter into a soothing interlude.
… To capture this atmosphere, I chose, as is my custom, to work the canvas intensely, creating pronounced reliefs that sculpt the edges and evoke the presence of ice. I then blended acrylic and oil paints with flecks of gold leaf and small collages of prisms. These precious elements capture the light and recreate, throughout the day, the shifting reflections and crystalline brilliance of frost.
