Here we are at a crossroads. Which direction should we choose for the rest of our journey? Move forward with a heavy trunk full of memories and habits? Continue walking, two suitcases on each arm? Or continue lighter, with a single suitcase, the one that contains the essentials: our dreams, our love, our enthusiasm? Perhaps even leave everything behind... and set off, with a simple bundle on our shoulder, an open heart and full of courage towards… a new adventure? Because, sometimes, unburdening ourselves is letting life guide us towards the unexpected.
Carole Perret primarily uses tempera on wood, a legacy of extensive training at the School of Applied Arts in Bienne and 40 years of advertising illustration. She adopts a figurative, naive, and precise approach, inspired by the Quattrocento, where symbolism, humor, and vibrant colors tell life stories. Through her mischievous little nuns, harlequins, and circus performers, she questions the harmony between appearance and inner being. Her works exude a childlike joy, a mischievous smile, and invite each of us to question our own inner freedoms.
