About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the essence of freedom and inner peace. Using watercolor, pencil and Indian ink, I created a soft but poignant contrast between the pensive face of the subject and the lively movement of the bird taking flight. This composition symbolizes escape to new horizons and the calm that comes with freedom of mind. When hung in your home, it will bring a touch of serenity and inspiration.

Caroline Champetier de Ribes is a sculptor and designer. Coming from a family of watercolor architects, she began drawing as a teenager, then a few years later, she began sculpting. She works with different materials: plaster, concrete and earth. She likes the raw and natural aspect of each material, which she wishes to preserve as is. She seeks to show through the very essence of each material, our own essence.
