About this artwork
In this bronze work, I sought to capture emotional intensity and human depth through the classical form of the bust. The expressive, slightly abstract features invite reflection on resilience, inner character, and reverie, marked by a texture that suggests the trials and experiences that shape each individual. Caroline Champetier de Ribes is a sculptor and designer. Coming from a family of watercolor architects, she began drawing as a teenager, then a few years later, she began sculpting. She works with different materials: plaster, concrete and earth. She likes the raw and natural aspect of each material, which she wishes to preserve as is. She seeks to show through the very essence of each material, our own essence.
