About this artwork
These quinces lay in my studio for over three months; processing them is time-consuming, the fruit so beautiful that it was November before they changed color... By chance, they were resting on a gold-silver emergency blanket that I had already used for another series of photographs. The glossy surface of the blanket and the matte surface of the quinces created an unexpectedly interesting image. I had accidentally photographed with incorrect exposure;…
I corrected it, but immediately reverted to the incorrect exposure because I was so captivated by its color.
