About this artwork
This work is from the series 'On the Road'. I'm fascinated by the contrast between nature and our human infrastructure. I find it intriguing how plants repeatedly find ways to establish themselves in seemingly impossible places. The thistle – as depicted here – is also a symbol of steadfastness; it's even incorporated into the Scottish coat of arms.
