About this artwork
This design reinvents the human spine by hybridizing it with a floral ecosystem. From the pelvis to the cervical vertebrae, the skeleton becomes a living support, traversed by plant branches and inhabited by two birds endemic to New Caledonia: the White-eye and the New Caledonian Myzomela, essential for pollination. Inspired by the Myrtaceae family, the flora seems to emerge from the bones, suggesting an organic interconnection between humans and…
their environment. At the base of the sacrum, seeds resembling those of mangroves evoke rootedness and the capacity to take root elsewhere. The skeleton thus becomes a fertile architecture where life takes root and circulates.
