About this artwork
This work is an allegory of long time, that of life, of its metamorphoses, of its silent transmissions between kingdoms.
An organic form emerges, drawn in pencil against the same dark background.
The aorta rises and unfurls in Cyathea intermedia, an impressive tree fern endemic to New Caledonia. Its spiral shape, striking in its precision, evokes both the beating heart and the opening frond: two languages of the same vital impulse.
Around her… gravitate dragonflies and butterflies, including the rare Montrouzier Butterfly, light figures of a fragile balance.
Heirs to the Carboniferous period, ferns traverse the ages here, reminding us that our own biology is rooted in a much older world. This botanical aorta becomes the point of convergence between blood circulation and the circulation of life, between what animates us and what preceded us.
