About this artwork
The right distance is between the eye of the painter and the eye of the spectator, one cannot exist without the other as the painter creates with the idea of sharing his gaze with that of the outside world and the outside in how much individual spectator needs that eye to get closer to the Essence. the figure in the foreground, deliberately blurred, serves as a counterpoint between the second figure and the city background. And as if it were the… tip of the scales, without that figure the picture would be empty.
« I am a painter in the sense that nothing separates me from being a shape, a color, a clean surface... »
Chiara Abbaticchio is an exciting Italian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Constantly searching for unity between line and colour, she composes works that balance form and material with both vibrancy and harmony. Her themes include female subjects that appear soft and independent, and urban landscapes such as New York's iconic yellow taxis and and scenes of everyday life. The co-existence of these themes presents an overall image of a modern society - ours - that is defined by continuous movement between individuals and environments.
