About this artwork
When making this piece, I got lost in the sense of touch, the flow of the cotton through my fingers, the way it would bunch and fold -- it almost had a mind of its own, the fabric dancing to some unknown rythm. The organic textures and natural folds, curves and shapes come together to create a rich visual experience, full of intricate detail, light and shadow that never gets boring. as banal as a bed sheet reminds us that there is beauty in everything. It conveys a sense of creativity and nonconformity, and gives us permission to break the rules – to take the risk and see what happens if we look at the things of drudgery and banality in a different light.
