About this artwork
To me, ‘Snow Tide’ is about how, even in a state of harmony and wellbeing, there are spiky bits - things we still need to learn, to digest, to understand and to grow from. And these spiky bits are an essential part of the beauty– their existence can transform banal contentment into true joy.
Feeling the contrasts under my fingers as I work, the silky chalk of the plaster, the sticky icky of the uncured resin, the spiky prodding of the marble chunks,… is an enormous satisfaction.
