Sony Center Berlin when it was still under construction. The locals marvel at the new architecture. The couple in the bottom right of the picture almost disappear under the gigantomania of these buildings. Old proportions of size, the church tower, have been pushed to the sidelines, if not completely devalued. The two old people still hold each other in this storm of individuation, the emerging mass society with its threatening isolation, loneliness…
in the paradoxical system.
