About this artwork
On my wanderings through the Louvre I came across the ancient sculpture. Triton carries the somnambulist Bacchus through the water. In the background you could see through the window into the courtyard of the Louvre. The window and courtyard and a tourist from Corea were actually supposed to be in the picture. But in the end the two men claimed the courtyard for themselves as an appropriate space for their divinity. Having to expose themselves to…
the curious gaze of the whole world was enough, why in this picture too? My sympathy gave them a golden frame...
