About this artwork
The wall object “OPEN THIS SIDE” is a temporal and spatial shift and interweaving of the usual structured work processes and an inclusion of the transport system.
The transport markings are executed in genuine… rust and copper patina on a work from 2017 (canvas on thin wooden panel, oil paint, ink). The final work is sealed several times, ensuring that the rust and copper patina remains permanently in this condition.
The wall object is signed twice on the front and inscribed with additional information on the back. The object weighs 10 kg and is prepared for secure wall mounting. This work is also packaged in a handcrafted wooden box.

« My rather unconventional technique arises from the intention to let the change of the material to the work flow freely. »
The free use of one's own resources is the fundamental creative disposition in Robausch's work.
His techniques and use of materials are also peculiar.
Standing outside the traditional art world, Robausch goes and thinks in an open and unsupported way.
Sculptures, wall objects and relief-like panel paintings are created entirely from within the individual.
Robausch also likes to rework his own works from earlier times, deforming and retuning them.
The translation of the mood of his physical works into digital, animated works sometimes seems strangely alien.
Currently, his original, very material-oriented working method is unfolding again with the "Future Origin" series.
The unpredictable immediacy seems to shine through these enigmatic, relief-like panel paintings.
