About this artwork
This painting comes from a moment I had standing on a ridge overlooking all the islands on Lake Superior on a clear, cool fall afternoon. The air was crisp, the colors were turning, and everything felt wide open and quiet at the same time. I remember looking out and feeling both small and completely grounded. That’s what I tried to capture here — that sense of calm, that clarity, that feeling of being connected to the land in front of me.
