About this artwork
"Corps émoi rouge" suggests the movement of a dancer. The sand applied to the canvas, the oil paint applied with a knife, the movement suggested by the fresh scratched paint gives a picture full of matter.
We guess the movement thanks to a treatment at the limit of abstraction: the contrast of reds and black combined with the flesh color adds to the dynamism of the work.
