About this artwork
In this piece, I blended realism with a hint of naivety to capture vulnerability and strength. The shadows and subtle highlights evoke a delicate tension. Referencing a photo taken of myself back in my younger years, this reflects my default urge to hide while also chasing my dreams which forces one to expose themself. I tend to paint dark but use splashes of light. I used metallic silver, gold, and copper acrylic pens for highlights. I also used…
