About this artwork
The Empress is caught in a moment of silent intimacy: the reading of a letter that seems to come from an undefined place, perhaps from the past.
Her pose recalls the Renaissance Venus: a harmonious beauty. Her body is in black and white, as if it belonged to a suspended time or a mental dimension, more than real. Her face is inspired by the delicate elegance of cinema.
Behind him, a more evanescent and sacred female figure slowly emerges.
The… emotional center of the work, however, is the letter. Unlike the rest of the body, it is permeated with warm, bright colors that draw the eye. Fragments of musical notes can be glimpsed between the folds of the paper, as if the message were more than just written, a hidden melody the empress is deciphering.
Thus the letter becomes the symbol of an invisible dialogue: between art and memory, between image and music, between the feminine ideal of the past and the one that continues to transform in the gaze of the observer.
d-Egon Zuodar is a painter trained at the Brera Academy, deeply rooted in urban graffiti and a practice that ranges from wall to canvas, using spray paint, acrylics, and ink. His technique is based on pictorial layers and a continuous dialogue between figuration and abstraction, blending street instinct with slow pictorial reflection. With his style, he evokes emotions suspended between memory, identity, and rebirth, inviting the viewer to active and in-depth contemplation, never offering definitive answers but rather spaces open to personal inspiration.
