About this artwork
The painting shows Archduke Ludwig Salvator, who is credited with discovering the Spanish island of Mallorca. It was 1867. For more than thirty years he studied the island's flora and fauna and built the famous little walls with benches from which one can admire the beauty of the coast to this day. In this painting, the artist shows the sheep, citrus fruits that are typical of Mallorca, a section of the cathedral in Palma and of course lots of blue… water as a symbol of the Mediterranean. Limited edition 2 of 10 from the GENIUS/Evolution 1 series, including object frame 60x60x9cm, frame in the picture gilded by hand, signed by hand.
