About this artwork
'Rowing with Dolphins' is a work that is inspired by a simple but memorable moment kayaking at Monkey Mia with my brother, surrounded by dolphins moving gently through the water. In that quiet space, time seemed to slow and I felt a deep sense of calm, connection and child-like wonder.
Back in the studio, I paint in response to that feeling; working intuitively, layering colour and gesture in a way that echoes the rhythm of water and movement. These… paintings are less about depicting a place and more about holding onto a moment of presence, reminding me to stay attentive to the beauty that reveals itself when we slow down.
