About this artwork
Passage 2, oil and amber on canvas, December 2022. This painting is the smaller version of the large-format work "The Passage," which can be seen in my series of exhibition-only paintings of the same title. Created in 2022, it accompanied the large-format work for presentation at Art Capital, Paris, at the Grand Palais, in the Maxi-Realist group in 2023. Here, the ant enters the frame of life... In the large-format painting, the life-size ants attempt…
to climb the wall toward the light.

Daniel Olivier, a painter and draftsman trained from childhood, excels in the mastery of oil painting, where he experiments with mixtures of rare oils and complex glazes. He blends surrealism, symbolism, and hyperrealism, integrating the harmony of regulating lines and the golden ratio into each composition. His work reveals the poetic and energetic power of nature, inviting the viewer to profound contemplation, a search for beauty, meaning, and a sincere and luminous connection.
