About this artwork
Fluid mechanics, oil and amber on canvas, 116 x 89 cm, produced in June and July 2024, is in truth the free exploration of a phenomenon of quantum physics, a subject that fascinates me: Young's two-slit experiment. I have no scientific expertise, and I invite the reader to discover the subject, there are plenty of videos on YouTube... The particle gun projects a particle onto a two-slit wall, which passes through both slits at once, unless the experiment… is observed, in which case the particle only passes through one slit... Multiple projections cause wave turbulence on the other side of the wall, similar to the turbulence of water. I played with all that, exploring the water, the sea, the moon barely visible in the sky at the top left, mistress of the tides, the gutter that channels the water... A pretext for the pleasure of painting, in fact.
Daniel Olivier, a painter and draftsman trained from childhood, excels in the mastery of oil painting, where he experiments with mixtures of rare oils and complex glazes. He blends surrealism, symbolism, and hyperrealism, integrating the harmony of regulating lines and the golden ratio into each composition. His work reveals the poetic and energetic power of nature, inviting the viewer to profound contemplation, a search for beauty, meaning, and a sincere and luminous connection. www.danielolivierpeintre.fr Member of ADAGP, the Taylor Foundation, Mondial Art Academia, the Maxi-realists group of Dan Jacobson at Comparaison, the Circle of European Artists, Member of the Salon d'Automne and of French Artists.
