About this artwork
Vincent, oil on canvas, 1995. I created this tribute to Vincent Van Gogh, in a symbolic way. Vincent holds in his hands the sunflower, source of light, and of his creative energy, with an evocation, by the presence of the chair, of the room in Arles, but also the head of the bed in this room which echoes the shape of his tomb in the cemetery of Auvers sur Oise, and in the background the church of this artist's village rich in history.

Daniel Olivier, a painter and draftsman trained from childhood, excels in the mastery of oil painting, where he experiments with mixtures of rare oils and complex glazes. He blends surrealism, symbolism, and hyperrealism, integrating the harmony of regulating lines and the golden ratio into each composition.
