In this work, I explore the effects of repetition and rhythmic order. The concentric circles unfold like vibrations radiating outwards from the center. For me, this structure represents resonance, both in the visual and the inner, emotional realm.
The dense, precise lines drawn with a ballpoint pen create both depth and movement. Despite the strict geometry, an organic dynamic emerges, reminiscent of natural cycles.
I consciously work at the boundary… between control and intuition: the form follows a clear order, yet the drawing process remains meditative and open. The work is intended to create a kind of visual echo—a calm, even rhythm that unfolds as the viewer observes.
Daniel Zwimpfer works primarily with ballpoint pen on paper and has a solid background in design and art. His technique is characterized by a minimalist black-and-white aesthetic, precise lines, and richly detailed three-dimensionality, with his works existing between illustration and fine art. He creates compelling portraits and abstract compositions whose emotional range extends from social reflection to meditative introspection, thus conveying intense impressions and a lingering sense of anticipation.
