About this artwork
Fields is a series of works I began in 2023. I went to the fields wearing different clothes to study color contrasts. Simple, clear postures, movements, playing with the wind, dancing with the wind, to enjoy the vastness and the horizon. Fields as a conference room, fields of transformation, to experience things, to explore them, and to bring them into the world.

Daniela Melzig, an interdisciplinary German artist trained in Maastricht, Eupen, and Remscheid, creates transparent objects, performances, and installations. Her approach is characterized by the fusion of traditional glassmaking techniques and diverse media, including printmaking, painting, performance, film, and photography. This results in spaces of transparency and lightness, reminiscent of early photographic plates on glass, reflecting space and time in color and form. Her works embody transience and evoke memories, offering a space for the expression of timeless thoughts in snapshots of fleeting moments.
