About this artwork
One resists, the other gives in. One holds back, the other tells. Both gathered in a closed and introspective pose, as if guarding something deep, inaccessible.
It is in the material that the most intimate meaning of the work is revealed: the cement, solid and immobile, symbolizes… protection and emotional distance. The rust, alive and changeable, tells of the time that digs and transforms without erasing. The acrylic, finally, unites and stratifies, giving voice to interiority. This is how matter and form, dialoguing with each other, want to create a visual and symbolic contrast that reflects the tension between strength and fragility, closure and welcome, appearance and truth.

It's said that art doesn't produce what's visible, but makes visible what isn't always visible. Broad, generous brushstrokes and seemingly random brushstrokes form the backdrop to faces that I try to bring to life on the canvas, as if to bring emotions to life. Each of my works is the result, never planned, of the constant interaction between what I feel inside and what is revealed on the canvas. In an ongoing dialogue, which allows an emotion to grow and evolve, giving it shape and color.
