About this artwork
Image taken during my trip to Russia in February 2024. I left Moscow to reach Vladivostok by train, the classic Trans-Siberian, but taken at a time in history when traveling in Russia is a little more complicated.
Once we reached Lake Baikal we (me and 2 other photographers) decided to rent a hovercraft to head to the point where the ice meets the flowing water of the river. I got off this strange vehicle and looked around and noticed this image… that if a little overexposed would have given me this feeling of lightness, emptiness and freedom at the same time. I took the shot and this is the result. That moment frozen forever both inside me and in the photograph.
