About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the exact moment before the action: the vertex where the body and will are at their most tense. "To the Limit (No. 6)" depicts a swimmer preparing to dive, in a position of absolute concentration.
I'm fascinated by this point where everything is about to happen. I've worked with clear color segmentation to enhance the power of the gesture: the fragmented skin in warm tones, the flat pool-blue background like a… hypnotic and silent void, and the platform marked with the number 6 as the only solid anchor.
