About this artwork
The theme of the gaze is recurrent in artistic practice. Often seen as a window to the soul, the gaze remains the focal point of the work, capturing attention and evoking deep emotions and thoughts.
In this series, the artist questions the gaze and the influence of our perception and our interaction with others. Each portrait is an invitation to a silent connection with the subject and the viewer.
David Decourcelle is a visual artist originally from France. Having graduated from a higher art school, he obtained the National Diploma in Visual Arts (DNAP) in 2000 and the Higher National Diploma in Visual Expression (DNSEP) in 2002. This training has enriched her artistic practice, which blends painting, graphic design, assemblage, and collage. Her work is primarily situated within the field of contemporary practice, with an approach that is intuitive, sensitive, and engaged.
His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in France and Europe.
