The choice of angle and the withdrawal of the face suspends any immediate identification, giving way to a figure that is more symbolic than individual. The dancer appears as a point… of equilibrium between setting, tradition, and silent presence. The Meras Gandrung marks a passage, a moment of transition where dance leaves the public space to return to an inner dimension.
Through this photograph, I am interested in how clothing, restrained gestures, and landscapes become forms of language, capable of conveying memory and continuity without explicit narration.
