About this artwork
After the vertical lines had been added through the use of palette knife strokes, I imagined this was a thicket of cattails in a mountain tarn on a sunny day, a mass of cattails in the shallow end of a lake. The lake itself is a very deep blue, reflecting the darker blue sky one experiences at high altitudes. I added the background colors with brush to complete the scene.
